Earlier this year, the members of the Lima and Lenni Heights Fire Companies held a meeting to pick a new name for the fire company that will be born out of merging the two organizations together. That name, by a majority vote, was Rocky Run. Since that vote, both companies have held numerous meetings between administrative members working on all the details required to start up a new organization while the tactical side has been participating in multiple training sessions and team building exercises. October 1st, both companies have joined forces and are responding to emergencies as the Rocky Run Fire Company. While both Lima and Lenni Heights Fire Companies continue to exist as separate business entities, the joining of forces on the tactical (firefighting) side has allowed for many benefits to the community such as improved response times and greater number of trained responders at incidents. You will continue to see Lima and Lenni Heights fire apparatus responding on calls but do not be surprised if you see different faces onboard them. We are all working together for the betterment of the fire service and residents of Middletown as Rocky Run Fire Company.
